Apple is unlikely to release an updated Apple TV 4K anytime this year, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman saying “there are no plans” for an updated set-top-box to debut before 2024 following the launch of a substantially upgraded model late last year.
Apple gave the Apple TV 4K a performance boost with the A15 Bionic chip, HDR10+ support, and more for a new, more affordable starting price in October 2020. The update seemingly brought enough to keep the Apple TV going for the foreseeable future, with neither Gurman nor any reputable supply chain sources forecasting the launch of a new iteration of the set-top-box anytime soon.
