Apple to cancel or postpone 2024 iPhone SE, reports Kuo

Respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that Apple may cancel or postpone mass production of next-generation iPhone SE, citing lower than expected shipments of the current-generation model.

According to reports, Apple’s next iPhone SE could feature an iPhone XR-style redesign, dropping the current iPhone 8 form factor in favor of an all-screen design like that seen on the 2018 iPhone XR.

Kuo suggests that as well as the poor sales performance of the current-generation iPhone SE, the new all-screen design of the iPhone SE 4 would lead to an increase in higher costs/selling prices, requiring Apple to reconsider the product positioning and return on investment.

Apple’s most recent iPhone SE update came in March this year, with the launch of the 5G iPhone SE, featuring the A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13, 5G connectivity, better battery life, improved durability, and a new camera system with Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and more for a new, higher price of $429 (US).
