Apple has quietly lowered the introductory free trial period for new Apple Music subscribers, cutting the previous three-month free trial down to just one-month, although customers purchasing AirPods, HomePod and other Apple products appear to still be eligible for a free six-month trial for the service as long as they are new to the platform.

First spotted by Macotakara, Apple’s website now reads “Start your free trial today” when visiting the Apple Music webpage, compared to the previous “Enjoy 3 months on us” call-to-action that has been in place since the launch of the music streaming service over six years ago.

Apple Music pricing remains the same for new and existing users, with four plans available including Apple Music Voice at $4.99/month, Apple Music Student at $4.99/month, the main Apple Music plan at $9.99/month and Apple Music Family at $14.99/month for a family of up to six.

Apple Music has a library of over 90 million songs with users able to access the platform completely ad-free.
