Apple is adding 37 new emoji characters with iOS 15.4, which is expected to release in spring.
On Thursday, Apple released the first betas of iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3, giving registered developer testers early access to the update and all its new features, including support for Emoji 14 that includes a selection of new emoji including a Melting Face, Face with Open Eyes and Hand Over Mouth, Face with Peeking Eye, Face with Diagonal Mouth and Face Holding Back Tears, as shown above in first-look characters from Emojipeida.
The update will add new Multi-Racial Handshakes emojis, new emojis for Coral, Lotus, Playground Slide, Ring Buoy, Low Battery, Crutch, ID Card, and more.
The Unicode Consortium — the people behind emoji — showed some of the new emojis included with Emoji 14.0 last year, offering a look at some potential additions, which Apple now has finalized.
