With the holidays nearing, Apple has a hidden Christmas easter egg in the Apple Store app on iPhone and iPad that unlocks snowflakes that fall from the top of your device’s display to get you feeling festive.
As we’ve seen in previous years, searching “let it snow” in the Apple Store app triggers virtual snowflakes to begin to fall throughout the app, and shaking your device causes the snow to fall faster, creating a magical winter snow globe effect.
It’s rare to find easter eggs such as this in any of Apple’s apps however, in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the Apple Store app in 2020, Apple included a similar surprise, which unlocked special balloons reading “10,” that floated up from the bottom of the device, which could then be moved around the display or popped by tapping on them when a user searched for “10 years” in the app’s search bar.
