Apple Watch Series 7 now available to pre-order

Apple has officially opened pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 7, with customers interested in ordering the new wearables able to do so right now using the Apple Store app or on the web.

Availability for the new Apple Watch begins next Friday on October 15, with pricing starting at $399 (US) for the 41mm model.

Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 7 in September alongside the iPhone 13 and redesigned iPad mini. The new device features larger displays, new finishes, enhanced durability, faster charging, and more.

The Apple Watch Series 7 lacks the long-rumored flat-edge redesign multiple reports had suggested would be coming with this year’s iteration. Instead, the wearable has softer, more rounded corners with a 20% larger screen area compared to the Apple Watch Series 6.

Available in new 41mm and 45mm sizes, the Apple Watch Series 7 introduces five new aluminium case finishes including Midnight, Starlight, Green, and a new Blue and (PRODUCT)RED, along with a range of new band colours and styles.

Apple says the users of the new Apple Watch will benefit from the same all-day 18-hour battery life as the Apple Watch Series 6, now complemented by 33 percent faster charging. Like previous models, the Apple Watch Series 7 includes tools for health and wellness, including an electrical heart sensor and ECG app, and a Blood Oxygen sensor and app.

Apple touts that the Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch ever, with a stronger, more crack-resistant front crystal. It is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for resistance to dust, and maintains a WR50 water resistance rating.
