iOS 15 beta 8 now available to developers

Apple has rolled out its eighth iOS 15 developer beta, bringing bug fixes and improvements ahead of the official release of the software in the fall.

As the public release of iOS 15 nears, Apple’s beta cycle is heating up. We now appear to be on weekly releases, with iOS 15 beta 7 being made available last Tuesday following the release of iOS 15 beta 6 the week prior.

iOS 15 beta 7 mainly brought bug fixes and improvements, whereas beta 6 saw the introduction of a new toggle that gives users the option to switch between the new iOS 15 Safari design, which features a compact floating tab/address bar at the bottom of the screen that allows users to swipe between tabs and have fewer interruptions when viewing content, and the previous layout with the familiarly located address bar at the top of the screen.

The beta also saw Apple confirm that SharePlay, the new FaceTime feature that allows users to listen to songs, watch movies, share their screens, and view apps together during FaceTime calls, won’t be available with the initial release of iOS 15 in the fall.

iOS 15 was announced at the beginning of June, bringing several major enhancements, including FaceTime upgrades, a new Focus feature, enhanced on-device intelligence, iMessage, Maps, Weather, and Wallet, updates, and more.
