Apple rolling out Spatial Audio and Lossless support to Apple Music subscribers

Apple is beginning to roll out Spatial Audio and Lossless support to Apple Music subscribers, bringing improved sound quality and Dolby Atmos to the Music app.

Spatial Audio allows musicians to create immersive audio experiences, with Lossless Audio letting listeners hear songs “the way the artists created them in the studio,” with more than 75 million songs available in Lossless Audio starting today and thousands of streaming in Spatial Audio.

To check if a song supports Spatial Audio, Apple Music subscribers will see new icons appearing on the album page below the Play and Shuffle buttons. These icons are also shown when listening to a track below the scrub bar.

Spatial Audio and Lossless is available to users running iOS 14.6 or the iOS 15 developer beta. Apple says it is working with artists and labels to add new releases and the best catalog tracks, as more artists begin to create music specifically for the Spatial Audio experience.
