Korean site the Economic Daily News shared rumors on Wednesday suggesting that Apple could announce AirTags, a new iPad Pro and the expansion of Apple Card next month on March 16.

The report, via Cult of Mac, only cites claims by Twitter-based leakers, so we suggest taking the report with a pinch of salt, however regardless whether the 16th is actually the date Apple chooses, it is believed that during some point in March we will see Apple finally lift the curtain and unveil new products, likely at a pre-recorded event from the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park.

According to the Korean language report, “Apple will hold a spring conference on March 16 to launch three new products, namely iPad, iPad mini and Air Tags, which will be the two major iPad assembly plants Hon Hai (2317) and Compal, the main chip suppliers Supply chains such as TSMC added growth momentum in the second quarter.”

Leaker Jon Prosser, who has been at the forefront of AirTags leaks for over a year, has suggested since late 2020 that March is when Apple will finally announce the small Tile-like item trackers, with other reports from various sources claiming new iPad hardware is on the horizon, with a March launch likely.

Asides from hardware announcements, the sources cited by the Economic Daily News claims that Apple will finally announce the expansion of Apple Card – the iPhone maker’s credit card. It’s currently unknown where, or if at all, the card will roll out to, although it’s worth noting that Apple recently received trademark approval for Apple Cash and Apple Card in Canada.

Apple’s iPad Pro updates are expected to be minor, with reports claiming the device will feature hardly any design changes compared to the current-generation model. Rumors point to a new sixth-generation 8.4-inch iPad mini launching in March, with a larger display that then current models, although details are vague.

Arguably one of the most exciting announcements expected to come from Apple in March will be AirTags. AirTags are expected to attach to valuables such as wallets, backpacks, keys, and more, allowing users to track their belongings in the app, which will notify users as soon as they become separated from their valuables, with the exception of when items have been left behind at a pre-defined  “Safe Location”, such as at the user’s home or workplace.

Pricing for the new trackers remain unknown, but it is believed AirTags may be sold in packs of three, with the keychain needed to hook the trackers onto belongings being sold separately.
