Apple has closed its Trafford Centre store in Manchester following a suspected coronavirus outbreak amongst staff.
The store, which Apple says will remain closed until further notice, has been shut ‘out of an abundance of caution,’ with reports suggesting multiple staff have tested positive for the virus, amid heightened lockdown measures in the city.
Speaking to local newspaper the Manchester Evening News, an Apple spokesperson said declined to confirm how many staff had been ‘affected,’ providing a brief statement on today’s closure.
We always put the health and wellbeing of our customers and teams above everything else and our stores are only open when we’re confident we can serve customers in a safe and healthy environment. Out of an abundance of caution we’re temporarily closing our Trafford Centre store after COVID-19 has affected some team members. We look forward to reopening the store soon.
Apple’s second store in the city, Apple Manchester Arndale, remains open and will begin operating full working hours starting Saturday after the store reopened on shortened hours in June.
