Apple creates #AppleEvent hashtag with Apple logo on Twitter, live from today until September 28

With rumors suggesting Apple may announce the date for its iPhone 12 launch event today, a new branded #AppleEvent hashtag has appeared on Twitter, with a hashtag tracking tool on wongmjane.com suggesting Twitter will show an Apple logo on tweets using #AppleEvent from today until September 28.

Apple was widely rumored to be releasing a fully redesigned iPad Air 4 and new Apple Watch Series 6 today, although so far no updates have been published on Apple.com. On Sunday, Bloomberg author Mark Gurman claimed rather than releasing new hardware as rumored, it was more likely that Apple will today announce the date for a virtual WWDC-style September event, during which Apple will debut the iPhone 12, Apple Watch Series 6, AirTags, and more.

Apple is yet to make any official announcements today, but the newly created branded hashtag suggests we could soon see Apple confirm a date for its next event.
