New ‘entry-level’ AirPods Pro soon entering production

Apple is readying its supposed ‘entry-level’ AirPods Pro to enter production between the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter of 2020, according to Taiwanese industry publication DigiTimes.

DigiTimes were first report at the beginning of February that “AirPods Pro Lite” were in production, claiming suppliers in both Taiwan and China would begin producing the new earbuds alongside updated iPad, Apple Watch, and iMac models.

If Apple were to release a “Lite” version of the premium AirPods Pro, we don’t know where they would sit in its lineup, with only $50 separating the ‌AirPods Pro‌ from the wireless case version of the regular ‌AirPods.

It could be that the ‘entry-level’ AirPods Pro in the report are actually an updated version of the regular AirPods which last saw an update in March 2019.
