Apple releases new firmware update for AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro

Apple has released a new nondescript firmware update for AirPods Pro and the second-generation AirPods, likely offering performance improvements.
The firmware update sees the AirPods Pro move from version 2B588 and the AirPods 2 from 2A364 to version 2C54.
Firmware updates, which begin installing automatically over-the-air while the AirPods are connected to an iOS device, usually offer bug fixes and minor improvements. Apple hasn’t specifically noted what changes have been made in the latest firmware updates, and no noticeable differences have been reported.
To check whether your AirPods have been upgraded to the latest firmware version, make sure the AirPods are connected to your iOS device and open the Settings app. Tap General → About then tap AirPods. Look at the number next to “Firmware Version” and check it is showing version 2C54.
There’s no manual way to upgrade the firmware of the AirPods and AirPods Pro.
