Apple launches Apple Pay in Italy, supporting Visa and MasterCards issued by Boon, Carrefour, and UniCredit

Good news for our Italian readers! ?? Apple has officially launched Apple Pay in the country, supporting Visa and MasterCards issued by Boon, Carrefour, and UniCredit with additional banks planned to be supporting the mobile payment service before the end of the year. Apple has been preparing the launch of Apple Pay in Italy for quite some time, with the company revealing a new ‘Coming Soon’ page advertising Apple Pay to the excitement of many back in March.

As promoted on Apple’s official Italian Apple Pay webpage, the mobile payment service is now being accepted in-store at Auchan, Autogrill, Eataly, LaGardenia, H&M, Leroy Merlin, Limoni, OVS, Simply Market, Unieuro, and more as well as online at Trainline, EasyJet and Deliveroo.

Apple Pay originally was made available in 2014 however has since slowly expanded across the world into the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland, Hong Kong and the United States.
