Apple reveals that Apple Pay is “Coming Soon” to Italy, launching a new Italian webpage promoting the payment service
After launching their mobile payment service in Ireland this morning, Apple has announced that Apple Pay is “Coming Soon” to Italy with the launch of a new Italian webpage promoting the payment service. While Apple didn’t give a specific date of activation, it’s clear the launch of Apple Pay is imminent.
Back in February The Apple Post reported that Apple had updated both their Italian and German webpages with translations of Apple Pay however at of yet, Apple hasn’t launched an official Apple Pay webpage in Germany. – Apple’s contactless payment service will be enabled to Visa and MasterCard holders who bank with either Boon, UniCredit and Carrefour Banca.
Italy would be Apple’s 15th Apple Pay enabled country, with the service available in the U.S., UK, Ireland, China, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, France, Hong Kong, Russia, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, and Spain. The service can be used on the iPhone SE, 6, 6s, 6 Plus, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, or an iPhone 5 or later when paired with the Apple Watch, and with the introduction of the latest MacBook Pro, users can make payments over the web with the machines built-in Touch ID sensor.
