Does iPhone Duo have a visible crease?

iPhone Duo does have a fold running through the center of its inner display, but Apple has designed the screen and hinge to make the crease less noticeable during normal use.

The 7.6-inch inner display uses a nano-texture finish that Apple says minimizes crease visibility while also reducing glare. That wording is important: Apple is not claiming that the fold is completely invisible.

Creases have been one of the most recognizable compromises of foldable phones since the category emerged. On iPhone Duo, how noticeable the fold appears can vary depending on viewing angle, lighting and what is being displayed on the screen.

Is the iPhone Duo screen completely crease-free?

No. Apple’s own description focuses on minimizing the visibility of the crease rather than eliminating it. Buyers should therefore expect the fold line to be detectable in at least some conditions.

The more important question for everyday use is likely to be whether the crease becomes distracting while reading, watching video or using apps. That is something that will become clearer as iPhone Duo reaches customers and is used outside controlled demonstrations.
