Apple Store near Los Angeles temporarily closes due to ‘events beyond our control’

Apple has temporarily closed its Del Amo retail store in Torrance, California, with the location remaining unavailable to customers after Apple initially cited “events beyond our control.”

MacRumors reports that Apple Del Amo, located in the Los Angeles area, had been closed for several days when Apple added a notice to the store’s webpage saying: “We’ll be right back. Our store is temporarily closed due to events beyond our control.”

Apple’s current Del Amo store page confirms that the location is temporarily closed and directs customers to use its online services. The company currently lists the store as closed through at least Tuesday, October 20, although it has not publicly confirmed when the location will reopen.

The reason for the closure has not been officially disclosed. MacRumors points to comments from people on Reddit claiming the store suffered significant water damage following a roof leak at the shopping mall, but Apple has not confirmed that account.

Customers who would normally visit Apple Del Amo for purchases or support will need to use Apple’s online services or another nearby Apple Store while the location remains closed.
