Apple’s second-generation HomePod mini will reportedly reach customers and stores on Friday, October 30, a little over two weeks after its expected unveiling at Apple’s “Welcome home” event.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the refreshed HomePod mini will launch October 30 alongside the next Apple TV 4K.
The reported date gives Apple’s compact smart speaker a clearer launch timetable after a six-year wait for new hardware.
The Apple Post previously reported that HomePod mini 2 is expected to be unveiled October 13 alongside Apple’s new HomeView smart home hub and Apple TV 4K.
The hardware refresh is expected to retain the familiar HomePod mini design while replacing the aging S5 processor with an S10 chip capable of supporting Apple’s newer Siri AI features.
Bloomberg also points to a refreshed color lineup. Pink, green and blue are expected to join midnight and white, giving the new speaker a noticeably different selection from the current generation.
The October 30 release would put HomePod mini 2 on sale before HomeView, which is reportedly scheduled to reach customers around the middle of November.
That sequencing could make HomePod mini one of the first pieces of Apple’s refreshed home ecosystem to reach buyers after the October 13 announcements.
Final pricing and availability details are expected when Apple reveals its new home lineup.
