Apple October 13 event: Time, date and how to follow the announcements

Apple’s next major product announcements are expected on Tuesday, October 13, when the company hosts a special “Welcome home” experience focused on smart home technology.

Invitations sent to journalists confirm an in-person Apple experience in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern Time, equivalent to 6 a.m. Pacific Time and 2 p.m. in the UK. The invitation time is for the press experience, however, and does not necessarily indicate when a public presentation will begin.

Apple marketing executive Greg Joswiak teased the date with the words “Welcome home.”

Apple has not confirmed whether the announcement will include a livestream, a prerecorded presentation or a series of press releases.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman expects three products: an all-new home hub with a display, an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV 4K. The devices are reportedly designed around Apple’s more capable Siri AI assistant.

The Apple Post covered the original announcement, which follows years of reports about a larger push into connected-home hardware.

For anyone planning to follow the announcements as they happen, The Apple Post app will be the best way to keep up with the event, with the latest news, product announcements and developments available throughout the day.

The confirmed details are the October 13 date, the “Welcome home” branding and the 9 a.m. ET press experience.
