Apple has expanded Apple Music to four additional countries, bringing the music streaming service to Albania, Brunei, Burkina Faso, and Pakistan.
The expansion was revealed through an update to Apple’s official Media Services availability information on September 30, with Apple Music now listed as available in all four countries.
The additions bring Apple Music’s availability to 172 countries and regions, more than 11 years after the service originally launched in over 100 countries in June 2015.
Customers in Albania, Brunei, Burkina Faso, and Pakistan can now access Apple Music’s catalog through supported Apple devices and other platforms where the service is available.
The rollout is particularly notable in Pakistan, where Apple Music had previously been unavailable as a locally supported service for iPhone users despite competing music streaming services already operating in the country.
The four countries don’t necessarily have access to the same wider collection of Apple media services.
Brunei, for example, also supports music purchases through the iTunes Store, while Apple’s availability information doesn’t list iTunes Store music purchases for Albania or Pakistan.
Apple Music Classical also isn’t currently listed as available in any of the four newly added Apple Music markets.
The expansion comes on the same day Apple made another significant international Services move, officially launching Apple Pay in India with Axis Bank.
Apple has continued expanding the international reach of its Services business, adding products and features to markets where parts of its ecosystem have previously been unavailable.
Apple Music launched in June 2015 as Apple’s subscription music service and has since expanded across Apple devices, Android, Windows, the web, smart TVs, game consoles, and other supported platforms.
The service includes ad-free music streaming, personalized recommendations, curated playlists, Apple Music Radio, Lossless Audio, and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, although the availability of individual features can vary by country or region.
Apple hasn’t issued a separate Newsroom announcement for the four-country expansion, with the change instead reflected in its official Media Services availability information.
