Eligible iPhone owners in the United States can now submit a claim for a payment from Apple’s $250 million Siri AI class action settlement.
The process is being handled through the official Smartphone AI Settlement website and takes place separately from Apple’s own website. Eligible customers have until December 21, 2026 to submit a claim.
This settlement is only for eligible customers in the United States. If you bought your iPhone outside the U.S., you cannot claim under this settlement even if you own one of the listed models.
Check whether your iPhone is eligible
You must be a U.S. resident and have purchased an eligible device in the United States between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025 for personal or business use, rather than for resale.
The eligible devices are iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Owning one of those phones today is not enough on its own. The purchase must fall within the settlement’s date and U.S. purchase requirements.
How to submit an Apple Siri AI settlement claim
Go to SmartphoneAISettlement.com, the official settlement website.
Select whether you are filing as an individual or as a business or other entity. Individuals should choose the option for an eligible device purchased for personal use.
If you received a settlement notice, use the Claim ID and PIN supplied in the email to begin your claim. If you did not receive an email or do not have those details, the website also provides an option to submit a claim without them.
Complete the requested personal and device information. The form can ask for the serial number of the eligible iPhone. If you do not have the serial number, the claims process provides an alternative using information such as your Apple Account email address and the phone number associated with the eligible device.
Review the information carefully, certify that the information you have supplied is accurate and submit the claim before the deadline of December 21, 2026.
Where to find your iPhone serial number
If you still have the eligible iPhone, open Settings, tap General and then tap About. The serial number appears alongside other identifying information about the device.
If you no longer have the phone, do not assume that automatically makes you ineligible. The settlement form offers another route for people who cannot provide the serial number.
How much could you receive?
The estimated payment is around $25 for each eligible iPhone. The actual amount can move up or down depending on the number of valid claims and other factors, but the payment is capped at $95 per eligible device.
That means headlines describing this as a guaranteed $95 Apple payout are misleading. $95 is the maximum, not the expected payment.
When is the Apple Siri settlement deadline?
The deadline to submit a claim is December 21, 2026.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, so submitting a successful claim does not mean the money will arrive immediately. Payments will depend on final approval of the settlement and the completion of the claims process.
Why is Apple paying iPhone owners?
The settlement resolves a U.S. class action over Siri Apple Intelligence features Apple promoted during the iPhone 16 launch cycle. The plaintiffs alleged customers purchased eligible devices expecting certain personalized Siri features that did not arrive as expected.
Apple denies the allegations and has not admitted wrongdoing. The Apple Post reported when Apple agreed to the $250 million settlement in May.
The delayed capabilities included Siri’s ability to understand more personal context, recognize information on the screen and perform more sophisticated actions across apps. Apple eventually introduced Siri AI with iOS 27 in 2026.
Siri AI itself still has availability restrictions, including hardware requirements and regional limitations.
For the settlement, the most important restriction is simpler: it applies only to qualifying U.S. purchases. Customers in the U.K. and elsewhere cannot use the U.S. settlement to claim a payment.
