Apple raises iPhone 18 Pro battery replacement fee

Apple has increased the cost of an out-of-warranty battery replacement for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with customers in the United States now facing a $129 fee.

The new price is $10 higher than the $119 Apple charged for battery service on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The increase arrives as the iPhone 18 Pro lineup goes on sale, bringing larger batteries and longer battery life than the previous generation.

AppleCare+ customers are not charged for battery service when the battery’s maximum capacity has fallen below 80%, meaning the higher fee primarily affects customers seeking an eligible replacement outside AppleCare+ coverage.

Apple’s repair pricing can vary by country and service provider, and the company notes that final out-of-warranty estimates can depend on the device after inspection. Apple Authorized Service Providers can also set their own service fees.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max launched in stores on September 18, with Apple highlighting improved battery life as one of the upgrades to this year’s Pro models.
