Apple has released tvOS 27, bringing its latest major software update to compatible Apple TV devices.
The update is available through Settings > System > Software Updates on supported Apple TV models.
tvOS 27 is a smaller update than Apple’s new releases for iPhone, iPad and Mac, but it still introduces changes across the Apple TV experience, including a redesigned Podcasts app with video playback, sidebar navigation and creator episode artwork.
Apple Music AutoMix also extends to tvOS, while compatible Apple TV 4K hardware can support Hi-Res Lossless audio through supported external outputs.
The release follows months of developer and public beta testing. Apple issued the tvOS 27 Release Candidate last week alongside the final test versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27.
Apple has given tvOS 27 considerably less attention than its other major software updates this year, with Siri AI rolling out across several Apple platforms but not announced for Apple TV.
