Apple is redesigning the Health app with Health Age, Longevity insights and lab testing

Apple is giving the Health app on iPhone one of its biggest overhauls yet, adding a new Longevity tab, Health Age, AI-powered insights and the option for users in the United States to arrange lab tests directly through the app.

The redesigned Health app will use Apple Intelligence to respond more dynamically to a user’s data. A new Insights tab will surface timely information across areas including heart health, sleep, fitness, readiness, vitals and cycle tracking.

The new Longevity tab takes a longer-term view, analyzing health data over time and introducing Health Age, an Apple Watch feature that compares selected metrics with a user’s actual age.

Apple says the redesign will also introduce movement evaluations that use vision-based AI on iPhone alongside heart-rate data from Apple Watch to assess areas such as flexibility, strength and balance.

In the United States, users will also be able to schedule and purchase lab tests through the Health app. Apple says more than 50 biomarkers will be available for $119 at around 2,000 Quest Diagnostics locations.

The Health app changes tie closely into Apple Watch Series 12, which introduces more frequent heart-rate and HRV sensing alongside a new Readiness score. The Apple Post previously reported that Series 12 could mark a major shift toward health tracking, and Apple is now extending that focus into the iPhone experience as well.

As announced by Apple, the redesigned Health app will arrive later this year, initially in U.S. English.
