iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 as Apple raises Pro pricing by $100

Apple has confirmed pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with its latest Pro lineup starting at $1,199 in the United States.

That puts the iPhone 18 Pro $100 above the $1,099 starting price of last year’s iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299.

The increase follows weeks of reports that rising component costs could push Apple toward higher prices. The Apple Post previously reported on estimates pointing to a potentially significant iPhone 18 Pro price increase, with memory costs identified as one of the pressures facing manufacturers.

Both iPhone 18 Pro models start with 256GB of storage, with 512GB, 1TB and 2TB configurations also available. Apple is offering the devices in burgundy, glacier, silver and black.

Despite the higher entry price, Apple is emphasizing trade-in and carrier offers. In the U.S., the company says an iPhone 13 or later can qualify for between $175 and $885 in Apple Trade In credit, depending on the device and condition.

Select carrier promotions can provide as much as $1,200 in credits when customers trade in an iPhone 14 or later. Apple has also introduced Apple Upgrade in the U.S., a Klarna-backed leasing option with 12- and 24-month terms.

The price increase arrives alongside substantial hardware changes, including the 2nm A20 Pro chip, a new variable-aperture 48MP Fusion Main camera, a smaller Dynamic Island, C2 modem and improved battery life.

Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, September 12, with general availability beginning Friday, September 18.
