Apple just made its infamous Polishing Cloth a lot cheaper

Apple has quietly released a new version of its Polishing Cloth, cutting the price of the accessory from $19 to $9 in the United States.

The cloth first launched in 2021 and quickly became one of Apple’s most talked-about accessories, with many mocking the company for selling a standalone cleaning cloth at a premium price. Despite the jokes, it became surprisingly popular and sold out within days, with delivery estimates eventually slipping by several weeks. The Apple Post covered the sellout at the time, when shoppers were facing waits of up to several months.

The new version appears to serve the same purpose as the original, with Apple describing it as a soft, non-abrasive cloth designed to clean any Apple display, including models with nano-texture glass.

It is not yet clear whether Apple has made any physical changes to the cloth, such as altering its size or material. For now, the biggest change appears to be the price, with the new version costing less than half as much as the original.
