Apple is preparing to launch updated versions of the Apple TV and HomePod mini later this year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, with both devices expected to receive performance upgrades focused on Apple’s next generation of Siri.
While the refreshed hardware is not expected to feature any significant design changes, Gurman reports that both products will include faster processors capable of supporting Apple’s upcoming Siri AI features.
The current Apple TV 4K is powered by the A15 Bionic chip, while the HomePod mini still uses the S5 processor that originally debuted in the Apple Watch Series 5. Updated silicon is expected to improve performance while enabling more advanced on-device intelligence and future software capabilities.
Apple has not updated the HomePod mini since its launch in 2020, while the current Apple TV 4K was introduced in 2022, making both products due for a hardware refresh.
Although Gurman did not reveal exact specifications or pricing, the report suggests both products could be unveiled this autumn as Apple continues expanding its smart home lineup.
