Apple has confirmed that The Morning Show, one of the first original series to launch alongside Apple TV+ in 2019, will come to an end with its fifth season.
The company announced the news on social media, revealing that the acclaimed drama’s final season will premiere in 2027, bringing to a close one of Apple TV+’s longest-running and most recognisable original series.
Starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, The Morning Show debuted when Apple TV+ launched on November 1, 2019, and quickly became one of the streaming service’s flagship shows. The series explores the high-pressure world of American breakfast television, tackling topics including workplace misconduct, media ethics, the COVID-19 pandemic, corporate mergers, and the growing influence of technology and artificial intelligence.
Across its first four seasons, The Morning Show has earned widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards, with standout performances from Aniston, Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, Steve Carell, Mark Duplass, and Jon Hamm. Billy Crudup has won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of network executive Cory Ellison, while the series has received multiple Emmy, Screen Actors Guild, and Critics Choice nominations.
The fourth season premiered in late 2025, continuing the story following the UBA-NBN merger as the newsroom navigated deepfakes, conspiracy theories, corporate power struggles, and an increasingly blurred line between truth and misinformation. Apple has historically premiered new seasons in the autumn, making a fall 2027 debut for the fifth and final season the most likely release window.
Apple has also confirmed new cast additions for the final season, including Jeff Daniels, who recently appeared in Apple TV+‘s Shrinking, and Jesse Williams, best known for his role in Grey’s Anatomy.
The conclusion of The Morning Show marks the end of an era for Apple TV+. Alongside See, For All Mankind, Dickinson, and Servant, it was among the service’s launch titles.
