Apple has released the second public betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, giving members of the Apple Beta Software Program another opportunity to test the company’s latest software updates ahead of their official release later this year.
The latest public betas arrive around a week after Apple made the first public betas available, and follow several rounds of developer beta testing that began immediately after WWDC26 in June.
iOS 27 introduces Apple’s next generation of Apple Intelligence, including the all-new Siri AI experience, alongside a range of new features, refinements, and performance improvements. The update also brings Apple’s redesigned Liquid Glass interface, new animations, enhancements to built-in apps, and expanded AI-powered tools across the operating system.
Meanwhile, iPadOS 27 builds on many of the same improvements while introducing new productivity features designed specifically for the iPad, taking advantage of its larger display and multitasking capabilities.
Registered members of the Apple Beta Software Program can install the latest public betas by opening the Settings app, selecting General, tapping Software Update, and choosing the iOS 27 Public Beta or iPadOS 27 Public Beta from the Beta Updates menu.
As with all beta software, users should expect bugs, performance issues, and app compatibility problems while testing continues. Apple recommends installing beta software on a secondary device where possible rather than on a primary iPhone or iPad.
Apple is expected to continue releasing additional beta updates throughout the summer before the final versions of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 are released to all users later this autumn.
