Apple is reportedly preparing a refreshed version of the MacBook Neo, with the budget-friendly laptop expected to receive a faster processor, additional memory, and new colour options.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the updated MacBook Neo will continue to use an A-series chip derived from the iPhone lineup, with Apple reportedly planning to equip the new model with the A19 Pro processor.
The report also claims the refreshed notebook will include more memory than the current model, helping improve multitasking performance and support for Apple Intelligence features.
While the overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged, Apple is said to be planning new colour options as part of the refresh. The report suggests MacBook Neo will become part of a regular update cycle, receiving periodic hardware upgrades similar to the rest of Apple’s Mac lineup.
MacBook Neo is designed as Apple’s most affordable notebook, targeting students, families, and customers looking for an entry point into the Mac ecosystem. By using an A-series chip instead of Apple Silicon from the M-series family, Apple is able to reduce manufacturing costs while still delivering performance that exceeds many traditional entry-level laptops.
Bloomberg’s latest report does not reveal when the refreshed MacBook Neo will launch, though development is said to be underway.
