Apple is planning a “slight redesign” for macOS 27, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, with changes aimed at improving readability and refining the Liquid Glass interface introduced in macOS Tahoe.
Writing in his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said Apple wants to address some of the “shadows and transparency quirks” that drew criticism following the launch of macOS Tahoe. The updated design is said to focus on making elements easier to read while keeping the overall look largely the same.
Gurman also said Apple is testing a new AI-powered Safari feature that can automatically organize tabs into groups. The feature was previously reported by MacRumors, and is expected to arrive across macOS 27, iOS 27, and iPadOS 27.
According to Gurman, test versions of iOS 27 include a new “Organize Tabs” option within Safari’s tab group interface. Users will reportedly be able to choose whether tab grouping happens automatically or manually.
