Hello Vet, a veterinary practice founded in London in 2023, says Apple technology has helped it build a more modern and compassionate approach to pet care.
The comments were shared in an interview with Apple as part of the company’s Small Business Success Stories series, which highlights how businesses are using Apple products and services to grow.
Hello Vet was founded with the aim of making vet care less stressful for both pets and owners. The company says it is the UK’s first veterinary practice designed to let clients stay with their pets during procedures, including anesthetic and recovery.
With three locations and more than 40 employees, Hello Vet uses Apple devices across almost every part of its business.
“I wanted to create a practice that prioritizes building trust with our customers by offering a modern, technology-focused and transparent approach to caring for their pets,” said Dr. Oli Viner, veterinary surgeon and co-founder of Hello Vet.
The company uses iMac computers at reception desks to register pets and manage appointments through a cloud-based patient management system. Each consultation room is equipped with a Mac mini, while the operating room features multiple iMac stations for wider team use.
Veterinary surgeons and nurses are also given their own MacBook Air, allowing them to easily move around the practice and work remotely when needed.
Hello Vet also uses iPad as a diagnostic tool. Through the Clarius Ultrasound app, staff can quickly scan pets and view live images directly on the iPad’s Liquid Retina display, potentially allowing diagnoses to be made on the spot.
The business has also introduced a digital messaging service that allows pet owners to chat with a nurse free of charge before or after appointments. Nurses can answer questions and offer reassurance using their MacBook Air, even while working from home.
According to Hello Vet, this early triage helps reduce unnecessary appointments and means pets only need to visit the clinic when truly necessary.
Despite its growth, Hello Vet does not have a dedicated IT team. Instead, Dr. Viner manages the company’s Apple devices through Apple Business Manager and Mosyle, allowing him to remotely update devices, manage apps, and wipe lost hardware if needed.
“I can keep track of all our Apple devices and ensure they’re regularly updated with the latest security features,” Viner said. “It’s reassuring to know our data is secure.”
Hello Vet says Apple technology has helped streamline workflows and free up more time for staff to focus on caring for pets and their owners.
