Low-cost MacBook powered by iPhone chip reportedly launching next year

Apple is planning to introduce a low-cost MacBook early next year that will use the A18 Pro chip, marking the first time an iPhone processor has powered a Mac, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo says the notebook is expected to feature an approximately 13-inch display and will enter mass production in late 2025 or early 2026. The model will reportedly be offered in multiple colours, including silver, blue, pink and yellow.

The analyst expects Apple to boost overall MacBook shipments to roughly 25 million units in 2026, up from an estimated 20 million in 2025. The new lower-priced model is projected to account for between 5 and 7 million units that year.

Kuo adds that Everwin Precision is set to become a key supplier for the device, providing components for the new hardware.
