Tyler, The Creator named Apple Music’s Artist of the Year for 2025

Apple Music has named Tyler, The Creator its Artist of the Year for 2025, recognising the rapper’s strongest 12-month performance on the platform to date.

Between November 2024 and October 2025, listeners logged more than 4.5 billion minutes of Tyler’s music on Apple Music, marking his highest totals to date across worldwide plays, unique listeners, and hours streamed. Apple says the accolade reflects a year of significant global momentum.

“Tyler continues to prove that anything is possible. His creativity has been incredible all year,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1. Lowe said Tyler’s “creative risk-taking” and attention to presentation have made him a consistent influence on peers and fans.

In accepting the honour, Tyler thanked listeners and described 2025 as the biggest year of his career so far. “To be this year’s Apple Music Artist of the Year, it’s sick. I appreciate the love. I appreciate the recognition,” he said, adding that continued support for artists “who are a bit out of the box” is meaningful.

As part of the award, Tyler received a custom Apple Music trophy featuring a silicon wafer suspended between polished glass and a machined aluminium base — a design Apple uses to highlight the technology behind its chips and to celebrate artists shaping today’s music landscape.
