Apple has released iOS 26.1, introducing six new features for iPhone, including customization for the Liquid Glass interface and several new gestures.
The update, available now, lets users adjust how translucent the Liquid Glass design appears through a new ‘Tinted’setting. It also adds a new swipe gesture that allows users to skip between songs without opening the full music player when it’s minimized at the bottom of the screen.
Other additions include a swipe gesture to turn off alarms, a toggle to disable the Lock Screen’s swipe-to-open-camera shortcut, and a new option to enable automatic downloads. The update also delivers important security fixes.
Today’s release marks Apple’s first major iOS update since the debut of iOS 26 in September.
Alongside iOS 26.1, Apple has today released iPadOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1 and macOS 26.1.
