All-new Apple Ginza reopens this Friday in Tokyo

Apple has announced that Apple Ginza will officially reopen its doors on Friday, September 26, following a full refurbishment of the iconic location that first opened in 2003 as Apple’s very first store outside the United States.

The redesigned four-storey space reflects Apple’s modern retail aesthetic, featuring expansive glass, natural finishes, and all of Apple’s latest products, services, and experiences. Customers visiting Apple Ginza will be able to explore the iPhone 17 lineup — including iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max — as well as Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch SE 3, and AirPods Pro 3.

To mark the reopening, customers can collect a limited-edition Apple Gift Card, available only at Apple Ginza for a short time. The store will also debut an exclusive Today at Apple Spotlight session in collaboration with Japanese supergroup Number_i, showcasing Spatial Audio and spatial video through their single “U.M.A.” The session will premiere at Apple Ginza before rolling out to stores across Japan on October 11. Fans will also be able to book one-on-one demos of Apple Vision Pro, including an immersive behind-the-scenes experience of the “U.M.A.” music video inside the Spatial Gallery app.

Like all Apple facilities worldwide, Apple Ginza now operates on 100 percent renewable energy.

“Apple Ginza holds a special place in our hearts as our very first retail store outside the U.S., and its opening more than 20 years ago marked a new chapter in how we connect with our customers around the world,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “This reopening is another incredible milestone on our journey here in Japan, and a symbol of our strong ties to customers and communities across the country.”
