Early stock checks suggest Apple’s new deep blue finish is proving the least popular option for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Based on launch-day availability checks following the opening of pre-orders today, many deep blue iPhone 17 Pro models in varying storage capacities remain on track for release-day pickup at Apple Stores.
By contrast, the cosmic orange and silver versions of the iPhone 17 Pro Max appear to be selling at a similar pace, with shipping dates already slipping for several configurations.
On the smaller iPhone 17 Pro, cosmic orange seems to be the most popular choice, with limited day-one stock still available.
These findings should be taken with a grain of salt. It is unknown how many units Apple produces in each colourway. The company may have manufactured more deep blue models to meet forecasted demand, or fewer cosmic orange and silver versions due to supply constraints.
The iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are available to pre-order now, with deliveries and in-store sales starting Friday, September 19.
