Next year, Apple is rumored to launch the iPhone 17e, which is expected to ditch the traditional notch that houses the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors in favor of the Dynamic Island — the floating pill-shaped cutout that dynamically expands to display interactive notifications, alerts, and ongoing activities.
Introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, the Dynamic Island adapts to show information like timers, music playback, calls, directions, and more. While it’s now available on all modern iPhones except the iPhone 16e, the feature is expected to arrive on the iPhone 17e next year, according to Weibo leaker “Digital Chat Station.”
The leaker also claims that the new model will maintain a 6.1-inch OLED display, likely the same panel used in the iPhone 16. This includes a 60Hz refresh rate and the addition of the Dynamic Island.
There’s no official word on when the iPhone 17e will launch, but if Apple announce the new model at the same time it did the last, we could see the new model debut in early 2026 alongside the iPhone 16e.
