Apple is reportedly working on a new iPad mini powered by the upcoming A19 Pro chip—the same processor expected to debut in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup this September. The information comes from code references uncovered by MacRumors, which point to a new device under the codenames J510 and J511.
Details on the next-generation iPad mini remain scarce, but earlier reports indicated that Samsung Display is producing OLED panels for the device. If accurate, the shift from the current 60Hz LCD panel to OLED would mark a significant upgrade in display technology.
In addition to the iPad mini, Apple is also developing a refreshed version of its entry-level iPad. References in the same leaked code suggest the budget model, codenamed J581/J582, will adopt the A18 chip and could launch as soon as next spring.
