Apple event rumored for September 10: iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods expected

Apple is rumored to unveil the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods on September 10, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says even through the timing hasn’t yet been confirmed, the iPhone is making preparations for that date, which falls on a Tuesday.

The unveiling will be followed by the devices going on sale Sept. 20, in line with Apple’s typical approach in recent years, he claims.

The highlight of the event is expected to be the unveiling of the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. These new iPhones are anticipated to feature a design similar to the iPhone 15 lineup, but with some key updates, such as a new capacitive button on the side for capturing photos and videos. The Pro models are also expected to have slightly larger displays, with the iPhone 16 Pro rumored to have a 6.3-inch screen and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch screen.

In addition to the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 10 at the event. The Series 10 is rumored to feature larger displays, potentially rivaling the size of the Apple Watch Ultra, along with a thinner case design. This could represent one of the most significant updates to the Apple Watch in recent years.

The event is also likely to see the introduction of new AirPods, with Apple expected to launch two new models of its entry-level AirPods, both featuring noise cancellation for the first time.

While the focus will be on these new products, there are also hints that Apple is working on new Macs with M4 chips, though these are expected to launch later in the year.
