Apple is rolling out the first beta of iOS 18.1 to developers today. This update is available for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max and includes the initial set of Apple Intelligence features, such as Writing Tools, new functionalities for Mail and notifications, upgrades to Photos, and more.
The first iOS 18.1 beta is now accessible to registered developer beta testers. Currently, there is no public beta of iOS 18.1, and there is no timeline for when that might change. The update is exclusive to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the only iPhone models that support Apple Intelligence.
For iPad users, iPadOS 18.1 is also being rolled out, available only for iPad models with the M1 chip and newer.
Once updated to iOS 18.1, users can request access to Apple Intelligence by going to Settings, tapping on the new Apple Intelligence menu, and selecting “Join the waitlist.” Users will receive a push notification once granted access to the Apple Intelligence beta.
