Apple has released its 2024 Environmental Progress Report, revealing that last year, through AppleCare and programs like Apple Trade In, nearly 12.8 million devices and accessories were sent to new owners.
In a post on the Apple Newsroom, the iPhone maker touts that last year, nearly 12.8 million devices and accessories were sent to new owners through AppleCare and programs like Apple Trade In — more than ever before.
Additionally, Apple has highlighted how Daisy, its recycling robot, can now take apart 29 models of iPhone into 15 components, along with recycling machines Dave and Taz, which are now deployed with a recycling partner in China.
“The proof of Apple’s commitment to climate action is in our progress: We’ve slashed emissions by more than half, all while serving more users than ever before,” said Lisa Jackson, Apple’s Vice President of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives. “More hard work is ahead of us, and we’re focused on harnessing the power of innovation and collaboration to maximize our impact.”
