iPhone 16 Pro rumored to launch in new “Desert Titanium” and “Titanium Gray” color options

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max might be available in two brand-new color options: “Desert Titanium” and “Titanium Gray,” according to Majin Bu on X.

As shown in a mockup by the source, Majin Bu suggested that “Desert Titanium” would resemble the Gold color option offered on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, but with a deeper and richer hue. On the other hand, “Titanium Gray” is said to be similar to the Space Gray shade featured on the iPhone 6 in 2014.

The current iPhone 15 Pro is available in Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium, and Natural Titanium. It’s worth noting that there is no ‌‌iPhone 15 Pro‌‌ with a Gold finish. Gold was available from the ‌‌iPhone‌‌ 5S in 2013 to the ‌‌iPhone‌‌ 8 in 2017 and then on the ‌‌iPhone‌‌ XS in 2018 to the ‌‌iPhone 14‌‌ Pro in 2022. The possibility of reintroducing a gold-like shade with the ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ seems plausible.

Rumors about the iPhone 16 suggest notable upgrades, including a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera, making it the second 48-megapixel sensor in the triple-camera setup. This improvement aims to enhance low-light photography in 0.5× mode. Analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities also anticipates Wi-Fi 7 support and an upgraded Ultra Wide lens. However, the Wi-Fi 7 standard might not be finalized in time for the expected September 2024 launch. Additionally, analyst Ross Young predicts a larger display for the iPhone 16 Pro series, with aspect ratio changes for a taller and more narrow design.

The iPhone 16 Pro could feature a 6.27-inch display, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max a 6.86-inch display. Young speculates that the iPhone 16 Pro may retain the Dynamic Island with ProMotion, while 2025 could bring the introduction of an under-display Touch ID sensor and a new punch hole camera system. As these details are based on rumors and analyst insights, it’s essential to approach them with caution until official announcements are made by Apple in September 2024.
