Apple is slated to release iOS 17.1 within the next two weeks, bringing with it a new Apple Music favoriting feature, new StandBy settings, AirDrop over cellular, reachability changes, and more.
The update, which will mark Apple’s first major release to iOS 17 so far, will also address French radiation concerns with the iPhone 12, in which officials deemed that the device emitted more electromagnetic waves susceptible to be absorbed by the body than permitted.
As reported by French site iPhoneSoft, the Agence Nationale Des Fréquences (ANFR) in France added to its website this week that Apple “has committed to rolling out this software update to all French iPhone 12 users by October 24 at the latest,” seemingly confirming that iOS 17.1 will be available within the next two weeks.
iOS 17.1 will introduce a new Connected Cards feature for iPhone, which will show users in the UK their bank card balances from the Wallet app, Dynamic Island improvements, and the ability to select a specific album of photos that will be shown on the Lock Screen through the Photo Shuffle for the Lock Screen setting.
