Apple is rumored to be preparing to announce three new iPad models this week, including an upgraded iPad Air, iPad mini, and refreshed entry-level iPad, according to reports.
9to5Mac reported on Sunday that the new iPad models will likely be announced via a press release on Tuesday, October 17, with each model likely to receive a minor spec update over the current-generation models.
The rumored announcement on Tuesday could see Apple upgrade the iPad Air for the first time in close to three years, with the device likely to switch from the M1 chip to the newer M2 processor found in the MacBook Air.
As for the iPad mini and regular iPad, Apple is expected to upgrade these devices with new A-series chips, with all three models likely to retain their existing design and general capabilities.
The insight comes via a report by Supercharged which was later corroborated by 9to5Mac over the weekend.
