Mark Zuckerberg says Elon Musk “isn’t serious” about cage fight, saying it is “time to move on”

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has said that X (Twitter) owner Elon Musk “isn’t serious” about their highly-anticipated cage fight after saying last week that he is “ready today” but “not holding his breath” as the wait for his opponent to agree a date continues.

In a post on Threads, Zuckerberg has said it is “time to move on” as Musk reportedly won’t confirm a date, saying Musk has asked to do a practice round in his backyard, to which Zuckerberg said “If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”

The feud started in June when Elon Musk responded to a tweet about Facebook’s new app Threads, in which a user jokingly said to Musk he “better be careful” because Zuckerberg does Jujutsu, a Japanese martial art for close combat.

In response, Musk said “I’m up for a cage match if he is,” to which Zuckerberg took a screenshot of the tweet and uploaded it to Instagram, where he applied an overlay saying “Send Me Location.”

Musk then responded to the Instagram post on Twitter, saying “If this is for real, I will do it.”
