iPhone 15 special event to adopt same pre-recorded format as previous product launches

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 special event will likely adopt the same pre-recorded format as previous product launches, involving an in-person component for hands-on time for members of the media at Apple Park, according to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

“Not that there was any doubt, but Sept 12 event is being prepared as an in-person launch,” says Gurman. “So recorded video + people watching at the Apple campus + hands on afterwards.”

Gurman’s insight follows after it was reported last week that mobile carriers have been asking employees not to take days off on September 13 due to a major smartphone announcement, which will likely be when Apple unveils its next-generation iPhone lineup.

Apple is expected to announce four new iPhone 15 models in fall, including a 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus.
