Apple is rumored to be working on an all-new iMac with a display measuring in at over 30-inches, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who claims the iPhone maker is also working on an updated version of its 24-inch Mac, which could launch later this year.
In his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurman says a new iMac, codenamed J433, with a 24-inch screens, like the current models, is currently being worked on, replacing the current-generation M1 model that launched in 2020.
The report follows after Gurman claimed in March that a new 24-inch iMac was at an advanced stage of development called engineering validation testing, or EVT, and the company was conducting production tests of the machine before mass production begins this summer.
The new machine is expected to be one of the first Macs to begin the M3 transition, with the update expected to see the 24-inch iMac move to a new 3nm process, offering performance and power efficiency improvements over the current M1 chip in the 2021 iMac, which is manufactured with a 5nm process.

At the time of his report, Gurman said the next iMac will come in the same colors as the current iMac, a palette that includes blue, silver, pink and orange.
In addition to the updated 24-inch model, Gurman says the company is also conducting early work on an iMac with a screen over 30 inches, with the machine carrying the codename J434.
