Apple expands Self Service Repair program to include iPhone 14 lineup, 13-inch MacBook Air with M2, more

Apple has announced today that it will be expanding its Self Service Repair program to include parts and tools to repair the iPhone 14 lineup, 13-inch MacBook Air with M2, and MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max, beginning June 21.

Available in the US and Europe, the Apple Self Service Repair program gives customers the option to perform repairs such as display replacements and battery swaps themselves, without having to visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Customers are able to order genuine Apple parts online for at-home repairs.

Although customers will be required to order the parts needed for their device repair, Apple offers tool rental kits for $49, so that customers who do not want to purchase tools for a single repair still have access to these professional repair tools. The weeklong rental kits will ship to customers for free.

Apple notes that the Self Service Repair program is intended for individual technicians with the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices and that for the vast majority of customers, “visiting a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts is the safest and most reliable way to get a repair.”
