Apple confirms some new 2023 Mac Pros have hard drive issues, fix coming in future macOS update

Apple has confirmed that certain SATA hard drives might unexpectedly disconnect from its newly launched 2023 Mac Pro, with the iPhone maker saying a fix is planned in a “future macOS update.”

As reported by MacRumors, Apple has published a new support article noting that certain models of internal SATA drives might unexpectedly disconnect from the new 2023 Mac Pro after the machine has been woken from sleep, stating that if a user sees a message saying that their disk was not ejected properly, they should restart their Mac to reconnect to the drive.

“Apple is aware of this issue and resolution is planned for a future macOS update,” reads the support document.

The new 2023 Mac Pro was released on Tuesday, offering up to 3x faster performance than the previous-generation Intel-based model.
